Born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised sixty miles north in Decatur, Elizabeth Lewis Scott has been drawing and painting since childhood. Horses were a major part of her upbringing, both in activities and artwork. Art education included atelier/classical instruction and earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts from Principia College, Elsah, Illinois. A major highlight of this experience was ten weeks of plein air painting throughout Europe.
After college, she worked almost entirely in equine subjects until, in the mid-1990s, she was bitten by both the wildlife and western art of bugs. In addition to artwork, Liz continued riding horses, particularly in the sport of combined training (3-day evening). Affiliations and venues have included

“The bedrock of finished work is the drawing that preceded it” summarizes her philosophy and technique in all of the media she works in (oil, watercolor, graphite, and charcoal). Her trademark is insistence on underlying detail, infused with character emanating from her models.
These days, she lives with her hubby on an 80-acre farm near Somerville, Alabama and enjoys having their daughter, son-in-law, and six grandkids live nearby. She’s surrounded herself with horses, ponies, and other critters that inspire her artwork, and loves to spend time visiting their son in Colorado and gathering material for new paintings throughout the American west.
Creating artwork is a lot like training a horse. For starters, there are no shortcuts! The same kind of vision and faith that cultivates the potential in a green horse is needed to bring ideas hidden in an artist’s heart and head to light and to life in a tangible form. Both pursuits involve patience, persistence, praying, occasional cussing or stubbornness, and a need for humility.

Robert Moore’s artistic achievements are all the more remarkable given that he is colorblind. Despite this, he has become known for his ability to create vivid and striking color palettes in his paintings. He has also developed a unique technique of painting with both hands simultaneously, which allows him to create intricate details and textures in his works.
Moore’s use of both hands to paint has been compared to the way a pianist uses both hands to play a complex piece of music. This technique requires a great deal of focus and coordination, and it has become one of Moore’s signature methods.
Moore’s colorblindness has also influenced his work in other ways. She works in a variety of media, including oil painting, watercolor, and printmaking. Her work is inspired by the natural beauty of the American West and the people and places that inhabit it.
Robbie Moore, who recently graduated with a Finance degree from the University of Arkansas, has always had a passion for art and the natural world. He has developed his skills in drawing, gouache, watercolor, and oil painting, and his work has been featured in a company calendar commissioned by his employer. With his father’s legacy of developing artists and a lineage of artists in his family, Robbie’s future aspiration is to make the most out of his upbringing and create a name for himself in the art world.
